It will be held on Wednesday, June 8th.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has re-scheduled its open house which was supposed to take place on Thursday, June 2nd. The agency says due to the possibility of severe thunderstorms forecast for that day, and to keep everyone safe, the Open House has been moved to Wednesday, June 8th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM

The Sheriff’s Office says the goal of the open house is not just to show off the agency’s headquarters, but to give citizens a chance to meet  with public safety personnel. “This is an excellent opportunity for Frederick County residents to visit our facility, and interact with our deputies and staff,” says Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, in a statement. “We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and answering any questions you have about the FCSO and its mission.”

Residents can tour the law enforcement center, watch K-9 demonstrations, and meet with public safety officials. Police vehicles will be on display, along with SWAT equipment, and crime scene  displays. There also a crime scene playground, duck pond and traffic cone toss.

The Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services will also have apparatus on display. Recruitment opportunities will be available from several agencies.

The Maryland State Police, which shares the Law Enforcement Center with the Sheriff’s Office and the County’s Department of Emergency Communications, will be participating in this event.
