Road will reopen around July 1.
Frederick, Md. (NS) – A portion of Rocky Springs Road between Fountain Drive and Bluegrass Way in Frederick has been closed for the construction of a new road alignment since April 25, but work is running behind schedule.
Although it was originally scheduled to open today, June 3, progress has been limited due to heavy rains, flooding, and unforeseen issues during construction.
Road work officials say the project is now expected to be completed, and the road reopened, around July 1.
Motorists are still advised to use a detour route that uses Rocky Springs Road, Christopher’s Crossing, and Yellow Springs Road.
Local traffic will still be able to access their homes along Rocky Springs Road.
