Maryland Municipal League To Host First In-Person Conference Since COVID-19

The MML Summer Conference and Expo will return to Ocean City June 12 – 15.

Ocean City, Md. (NS) – The Maryland Municipal League (MML) is having their first in-person Summer Conference and Expo since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We actually had sort of a hybrid conference last year. So, we were together, but we weren’t as together as we are going to be this year because our conference is probably going to be the biggest conference we’ve had, certainly pre-pandemic, and it has the capability, at this point, of being the largest conference we’ve ever had,” said Scott Hancock, Executive Director of the MML.

He said municipal leaders will discuss the ongoing effects of the pandemic, as well as mental health and public safety.

“Mental health issues are very high on our radar screen at the municipal level this year, as it is with every governmental unit across the country,” he explained.

Hancock said leaders will use this conference to learn from each other on ways to best tackle pressing issues.

The event will take place in Ocean City on June 12 -15.
