Most Frederick County Government Offices To Be Closed Monday For Juneteenth Holiday

They will reopen on the following day at their regular hours.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – Most Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Monday, June 20th for the Juneteenth holiday. Among the County offices closed on that day are the Board of Elections, the Health Department, the Public Libraries,  (which will also be closed on Sunday, June 19th), the Courts and the State’s Attorney’s Office.

The adoption center and administrative offices for Animal Control will be closed, .but Animal Control Officers will be on duty. The Landfill and Recycling Center on Reichs Ford Road will be open on Monday. but administrative offices will be closed. . TransIT offices will be closed, and all services will be canceled. The MARC Brunswick line will operating on an “R” schedule. The MTA Commuter Bus service will be on an “S” schedule.

Frederick County Government offices will reopen at their regularly schedule times  on Tuesday, June 21st.

Juneteenth is a recently created federal holiday which commemorates the emancipation of African-Americans slaves on June 19th, 1865.
