Fire In Fredrick Displaces Residents From Two Apartments

The fire happened in the building where the Frederick Book Arts Center is located

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Seven adults and one child have been displaced due to a building fire in Frederick late Wednesday night.

Frederick County Firefighters responded to the 200 block of W. Patrick St. at 10:45 PM for reports of a fire with possible entrapment. When they arrived, they found a three story building with smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters searched the building and were able to safely remove the residents from two apartments on the second and third floors.

It took 50 firefighters 15 minutes to put out the blaze. No one was injured.

The building also housed the Frederick Book Arts Center on the first floor.

The Frederick County Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the fire to determine the cause and extent of damage.
