Federal officials say he distributed fentanyl and heroin.
Baltimore, Md. (KM) – A Hagerstown man pleaded guilty on Wednesday in US District Court in Baltimore to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and heroin. Thamar Smith, 48, is scheduled to be sentenced on October 7th.
The US Attorney’s Office says according to his plea agreement, Smith maintained a supply of fentanyl and heroin in a storage facility in Hagerstown. Federal officials also says Smith distributed narcotics to Tyler and Eddie Ware of Hagerstown who are both heroin and fentanyl dealers. Tyler and Eddie Ware have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 40 or more grams of fentanyl. on October 28th, 2020, and January 11th, 2021 respectively.

During a search a seizure operation on Smith’s home and storage unit on August 19th, 2019, authorities say they confiscated 15.4 grams of heroin, 8.9 grams of a fentanyl and heroin mix along with drug paraphernalia such as digital scales, numerous small baggies and a glass jar containing a suspected cutting agent. .
Federal officials say if the court accepts a plea agreement, Smith could be sent to prison for 92-months, followed by four years of supervised release at sentencing.
