Police say the victim was a seven-year-old girl.
Thurmont, Md. (KM) – Thurmont Police have charged a Smithsburg man with 3rd-degree sex offense, and 2nd-degree assault. Matthew John Anders, 64, was arrested on Tuesday.
Authorities say last month, they received word about a sex offense committed on Golf Course Lane in Thurmont. At the time, a seven-year-old girl was being examined at Frederick Health Hospital. She said that a friend of her father’s touched her inappropriately. Thurmont Police say it occurred while her father and the friend were playing golf, and the seven-year-old victim was there at the time.
Anders had a bail review was held on Tuesday, and was released on $10,000 bond.
