Man Charged With Fatal Shooting Inside A Frederick Fast Food Restaurant Goes On Trial This Week

Frederick, Md. (KM) – The trial of a Frederick man for a deadly shooting  is scheduled for this week. Darin Tyler Robey, 21, is charged with 1st-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony crime of violence and possession of a firearm by a minor. for a shooting late last year at a local fast food restaurant.

Frederick Police say on December 26th, 2021, in the evening, Robey was inside the Burger King on Routzahn’s Way arguing with a woman who worked there. Jaion Antonio Penamon, 20, tried to intervene, but was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spokesman Will Cockey with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says jury selection in the trial was completed on Monday, and opening statements are expected to begin on Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
