MDOT SHA Will Be Doing Guardrail Work On I-70 In Frederick County

It will take place Sunday night through early Monday morning.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – Guardrail work is scheduled for a section of westbound Interstate 70 at Routes 340 and 15 this weekend.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says that area of I-70 will be closed from 10:00 PM on Sunday, August 14th to 5:00 AM on Monday, August 15th. This will allow crews to replace guardrail that was recently damaged by a vehicle crash.

Motorists will be detoured to Exit 52. Officials say the northbound I-270 ramp to westbound I-70 will be reduced to from two travel lanes to one travel lane..

MDOT SHA says it will be using electronic signs, road signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists to the work zone and guide them through the detour. Drivers in that area are urged to stay alert and focused on their driving, and look for reduced speed limits and driving pattern changes.
