Elks Parade Expected To Cause Road Closures, Parking Restrictions In Downtown Frederick On Sunday

Residents and commuters should anticipate traffic delays.

Frederick, Md. (KM) There will be some road closures in downtown Frederick on Sunday afternoon, August 28th  for the Elks Parade which will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.. Frederick Police and the City’s Department of Public Works will be providing assistance during that time.

City officials say those taking part in the parade will stage at the All Saints Street parking deck which will not be accessible to the public between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. .

The parade will go from East Street to East Patrick Street where it will begin. The route will require the closures of East Street, East Patrick Street and North Market Street from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

While the parade is underway, the Carroll Creek Parking Deck will not be accessible to the public. Police officers will be on hand to provide assistance to the motorists who are leaving that parking deck.

Authorities say residents and commuters should expect traffic delays between 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and are urged to take alternate routes around the downtown.
