The Memphis Police Department announced last night on Twitter that a body was found “in the 1600 block of Victor,” which is near the place where Eliza Fletcher was abducted while jogging in Memphis last week. The identity of the body and the cause of death had not been revealed by authorities as of last night.
Authorities say 34-year-old Fletcher was jogging around 4 a.m. on Friday when a man approached her and forced her into an SUV after a brief struggle. A witness told police they sawCleotha Abston cleaning blood out of a GMC Terrain with floor cleaner and washing his clothes, acting strangely. Abston was arrested on Saturday, with his arraignment set for today.
