Two Juveniles Charged After Fights At Frederick Fair

A crowd interfered with an arrest


Frederick, Md. (DG) – Two juveniles have been banned from the Frederick Fair after fights broke out on Saturday night.

Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office were directing traffic at the fair when they saw a large group of juveniles begin to form inside Gate 1. Deputes and security personnel moved the group outside of the gate and a fight occurred.

While police were trying to take the boy who was the main aggressor into custody, the crowd interfered. A deputy used OC spray on the group.

After the arrest, another crowd began to form. While keeping that crowd away, a female juvenile hit a deputy in the chest. The girl was taken into custody and the crowd dispersed.

The male juvenile was taken to the law enforcement center and later released to a guardian. He will be charged with 2nd-degree assault via a juvenile referral.

The female juvenile was released to a guardian. She will be charged with 2nd-degree assault and resisting/interfering with an arrest via a juvenile referral.

Both juveniles will be served with no trespassing orders, and will be banned from coming onto the fair grounds.
