Five Indictments Returned Friday By Frederick County Grand Jury

There  were all  assault cases.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Grand Jury returned five indictments on Friday, .most of the cases involved assaults.

*Nathaniel Lewis Messick, 22, of Frederick, who is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property less than $1,000 for an incident which occurred on September 16th, 2022.

*Charles C. Baker, 59, of Frederick , who is charged with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on September 19th, 2022.

*Gary Lee Butler, 42, of Hagerstown, Md., who is charged with two counts of 1st-degree assault, and one count of 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on September 18th, 2022.

* Gary Lee Butler, 42, of Hagerstown, Md, who is charged with 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on February 14th, 2021.

*Michael Anthony Simpson, 33, of Rocky Ridge, Md, who is charged with six counts of 1st-degree assault, six counts of 2nd-degree assault, eight counts of violating an ex parte/protective order and one count of false imprisonment for an incident which occurred n September 13th, 2022.

These indictments move these cases to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says indictments are documents alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
