Brad Young Still Top Vote Getter In Frederick County Council At Large Contest

Councilman Donald still maintains the  lead in the District One Contest.

Frederick, Md (KM) Many of the results from Saturday’s counting still remain the same following mail-in ballot canvassing in Frederick County on Monday.

In the County Council at-large race, Democrat Brad Young still leads with 49,113  votes followed by fellow Democrat Renee Knapp with  with 45,317  votes.  Number three is incumbent Republican Phil Dacey with 44,852 votes, and former Councilman Tony Chmelik with 44,430 votes.

In the District One Council contest, Incumbent Democrat Jerry Donald is still out in front with 11,572  votes, followed by Republican challenger John Distel with 11,002. ; 570  voters separate these two candidates. .

The top four vote getters in the Board of Education race are incumbent Karen Yoho with 42,143 votes; Rae Gallagher with 41,905;  Nancy Allen with 41,067;  and Dean Rose with 40,846 votes. . Allen is a member of the Education, Not Indoctrination Slate. .

The counting is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, November 16th at 10:00 AM. . The public can come by to the Election Officer at 340A Montevue Lane, and observe the process.

Certification of the election results is expected on Friday, November 18th. .
