Every high school in the county will be represented in this year’s tournament.
FREDERICK, Md. (BW)- The 43rd annual Frederick County Academic Tournament begins Friday, Jan. 6 at Frederick high school.
Each week there will be four matches consisting of three teams each. Each team will have four students competing.
The event will be a jeopardy-style academic and trivia competition, with content ranging from literature and math to sports and entertianment.
Each week one round will feature a special pre-determined topic. the first week’s topic is Astronomy. Among other special topics are World Cup Soccer and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Every high school in the county will be represented in this year’s tournament.
The tournament will run until Friday, Feb. 24 when the finals take place.
The competition is free for the public.
