Frederick, Md. (KM) A Frederick woman is being held without bond following her arrest last week. The Sheriff’s Office says Heather Ann Kennedy, 32, was taken into custody on February 2nd, and charged with four counts each of possession of narcotics, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle and theft between $1500 to $25,000..

Authorities say Kennedy was arrested for five  incidents involving vehicle thefts and drug offenses.

On December 7th, 2022, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Capital Auto  Sales at 5806 Urbana Pike. Authorities say Kennedy arrived at the business at around 3:00 PM to test drive a vehicle. She drove it alone, and did not returned it for hours. The Sheriff’s Office was called. While deputies were on the scene, Kennedy returned the vehicle. She was arrested for outstanding warrants from Frederick and Howard Counties for violating her probation, and failing to appear in court.   Authorities say Kennedy was also found to be in possession of heroin, and was charged in connection with that.

The Frederick Police Department responded to a vehicle theft at the Lucky Pho restaurant in the 700 block of North Market Street on December 19th, 2022. Officers learned that a Toyota Highlander was  parked and the  motor   left  running front of the business while an occupant got out to check if it was open. A woman got into the Highlander and drove it away. Kennedy was arrested in Baltimore City on December 27th while in possession of the Highlander. She was later released on bond.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies on December 30th, 2022, responded to the Econo Lodge at 6021 Francis Scott Key Drive for a vehicle theft. The victim said a woman who fit Kennedy’s description stole a Ford Fusion valued at $5,000 from the parking lot and drove it north on Urbana Pike. He told authorities he never met Kennedy. Deputies say they located the Fusion on January 4th, 2023 parked in the rear of an apartment complex where Kennedy lived. She was contacted, and admitted she took the vehicle. Kennedy was arrested and later released on bond.

On January 16th, 2023, Frederick Police Officers were sent to the WIllowtree Plaza at 5 Willowdale Drive for a vehicle theft. A woman had stolen a Mazda 3 Sedan valued at $5,000 from the parking lot. The Sheriff’s Office says Deputies located Mazda on January 17th, 2023 and conducted a traffic stop. Kennedy, who was the sole occupant, was arrested. She was released on private home detention on January 18th.

The Sheriff’s Office says Deputies, on February 2nd, responded to Capital Auto  Center at 5716 Buckeystown Pike for a vehicle theft. They learned that a woman came to the business and inquired about a Nissan Sentra valued at $16,800 which was for sale. The employee went inside to get the paperwork, but left the keys in the vehicle because the customer  wanted to inspect the interior. Upon returning, the employee noticed the Sentra was gone. Video surveillance showed the woman entering the vehicle and driving it away. Deputies found the vehicle and the driver about two hours later. They made a traffic stop, and arrested Kennedy. A search of the Nissan netted suspected fentanyl, heroin and cocaine. Kennedy was ordered held without bond.

During her bond review on Tuesday, Kennedy’s bond from a previous arrest was revoked. She’s currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
