Two Former Nats Players Join New Frederick Atlantic League Baseball Club

The new team’s  season starts in late April.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick Atlantic League Professional Baseball Club says it has signed two former Washington Nationals Players for its team. Catcher Raudy Read and Outfielder Moises Sierra will be playing for the Frederick team this summer.

According to  a news release from the Atlantic League Professional Baseball club, Read spent part of two seasons (2017 and 2019) catching in the major leagues for the Washington Nationals. He also played for the Chicago White Sox splitting time between the  AA an AAA, hitting .303 with 18 home runs, and 71 runs batted in.

The Atlantic League team says Read lives in the state of Maryland and is excited to call Frederick home in 2023.

The Atlantic League says Sierra played parts of the last four seasons in Major League Baseball. He played for the Atlantic League with the Wild Health Genomes where he finished up with at .288 AVG and 8 home runs  and 47 RBI’s while playing  Outfield.

Sierra began his professional career in the Toronto Blue Jays system  in 2007 at the age of 18. In 2008. he played for the Lansing Lugnuts. SIerra  enters his 17th season in professional baseball in 2023.

The first game the season begins in late April. THe first home game is in early May. The Frederick Atlantic League Professional Baseball Club is still accepting recommendations for a name You can submit your favorite at the team’s website, which you can also use to purchase tickets.
