A Bill to Terminate The Washington County Admissions and Amusement Tax Introduced In The General Assembly

The bill would end Admissions and Amusement Tax for all Washington County

Annapolis, MD (MO) – There may be an end to the admissions and amusement tax in Washington County if a proposed bill by State Senator Paul Corderman passes.

The bill would apply to all businesses across Washington County, regardless of town or municipality. “A couple of different business entities so to speak have reached out to us with some of the municipalities as well as throughout the county… mostly in Washington County in regards to this Admissions and Amusement Tax to see if there was a way to get rid of it basically and not participate in it.” said Corderman

The Senator represents district 2 which covers the Eastern part of Washington County and a Northern portion of Frederick County. The bill is scheduled to be heard on March 7th by the budget and taxation committee in the Maryland Senate.
