Two Killed In Head On Collision, Fiery Crash Near Myersville

Md. State Police are investigating.

Myersville, Md (KM) A head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Myersville left two people dead.

State Police say at around 2:53 PM, troopers responded to Baltimore National Pike (US Route 40) west of Easterday Road   for a crash with entrapment and vehicle fire. A preliminary investigation determined that a Nissan Sentra was traveling east on Baltimore National Pike when for unknown reasons it crossed into the westbound lanes, and struck a Ford F-150 head on.

The pickup was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived. They were able to put out the fire as well as a brush fire nearby, according to the Division of Fire and Rescue Services.  .

The drivers of the Ford and the Nissan were both pronounced dead at the scene. State Police say the identity of the driver of the Nissan is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the F-150 has yet to be positively identified.

Baltimore National Pike was closed for five hours Thursday  while State Police conducted their investigation.
