Crash On 340 Turns Deadly In Jefferson County West Virginia

One woman pronounced dead and two others flown to hospital for life threatening injuries.

Charles Town, WV – (MO) A vehicle crash on Route 340 near the Walmart in Jefferson County killed one person, and left two others injured.

According to a press release, Charles Town West Virginia Police said that on Tuesday at around 5:45 P-M, officers were dispatched to an accident involving a Ford Excursion, a Ford Focus, and a Tractor Trailer.

Police said a Ford Excursion was traveling southbound on Route 340 approaching Patrick Henry Way.

The Excursion changed lanes and hit a Ford Focus stopped in traffic. After striking the Focus, the Excursion then hit a stopped Tractor Trailer.

The Excursion’s driver was ejected from the vehicle. A juvenile rear passenger in the Excursion was also injured.

The Excursion’s front seat passenger was identified as Kitty Miller of Knoxville Maryland and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Excursion’s driver and the juvenile passenger were flown to an area hospital for life threatening injuries.

Neither the driver nor the front seat passenger of the Excursion were wearing safety belts.
