Lewis Named CFO For Frederick County

He takes over May 20th.

Frederick, Md (KM) There will be a new Chief Financial Officer for Frederick County. Dan Lewis has been appointed to the position following a national search. He takes over on May 20th, replacing Lois Depies who is retiring at the of the month.

“Dan is a dynamic leader who brings decades of experience and thoroughly understands Frederick County,”: says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “It’s exciting to see one our own employees rise to the top of a national search. I’m confident Dan will excel as our new CFO.”

Lewis has been working in Frederick County Government for the past 22 years, starting out as a high school intern. He has worked as manager of the Treasury Department. He’s a Certified Public Finance Officer who is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association. Lewis is also a co-chair of the Tax Affinity & Munis User Group of the Maryland Finance Officers Association

His role in Frederick County Government includes participation in the Government Alliance on Race & Equity, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, and the FCG Employees Retirement and Deferred Compensation Committee. Along with that, Lewis has served chair of the American Rescue Plan Act Project Review Committee which evaluated requests for grants from Frederick County’s federal allocation $50.4-million. .

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and an Associate of Science in Business Management from Frederick Community College.
