Frederick Man Sentenced For Possession Of Child Pornography

He was a former Rockville Police Officer and Army National Guardsman.

Baltimore, Md (KM) Sentencing was handed down on Friday to a Frederick man for possession of child pornography. In US District Court, Daniel Morozewicz, 38 was given 42 months in prison. After he serves his time, Morozewicz will be placed on lifetime supervised release and must pay $14,000 in restitution.

Morozewicz is a former Rockville Police Officer and an Army National Guardsman.

The US Attorney’s Office for Maryland says Morozewicz possessed, received and distribute child pornography between September, 2020 and January, 2021 on the BitTorent file sharing network, all while working as a Rockville Police Officer and  an Army National Guardsman. .

Federal officials also say on March 3th, 2021, Morozewicz received a tip that federal law enforcement wanted to speak with him in person. The next day, law enforcement agents executed a search and seizure warrant at his residence, his vehicle and his person. They learned that Morozewiczr factory reset and erased his Smartphone and discarded a computer after receiving a tip that law enforcement agents were going to serve the warrants. . The US Attorney’s Office says this was viewed as an attempt to impeded the investigation and prosecution of child pornography charges.

Morozewicz  possessed more than 12,300 depictions of child pornography and erotica, including 200 images of sexual abuse of infants and toddlers, and over 90 child pornographic images of sado-masochistic conduct, according to federal officials..
