Man Charged In Shots-Fired Incident In Hagerstown

No one was injured, but buildings & vehicles were damaged.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) One suspect has been arrested in a shots-fired incident in Hagerstown on Wednesday. Dejaniro Amante Rivera, 25, is charged with attempted 1st degree murder, attempted -2nd degree murder, 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment and numerous firearms offenses.

Police say at around 3:50 PM, officers responded to the area of West First Street and Maryland Avenue for a report of multiple shots fired. They recovered several shell casings,, and learned that two buildings in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue and five different vehicles were struck by bullets. There were no injuries.

Rivera was arrested after officers served a search and seizure warrant at his  residence in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue.

Hagerstown Police say they would like to thank the neighborhood community whose residents were very helpful in providing information that led to this arrest.
