UPDATE-Car Plunges Over 400 Feet Into Quarry in Frederick County – Three Killed

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Frederick County Fire and Rescue are on the scene of an accident near Lehigh Road and Peter Shriner Road in Frederick County near the Carroll County line were a car reportedly plunged over 400-feet into a quarry killing three people.

According to scanner reports, family told police there were three people in the vehicle. Two people, a male and a female, were found dead in the vehicle.

The third person, a female, was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries.

Police are still at the Heidelberg Material owned Union Bridge Quarry.

The investigation is continuing.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Todd Wivell confirmed to WFMD News that a deputy responding to the scene was involved in an accident and is being treated at Frederick Health Hospital.
