Fire Damages House In Hagerstown

Hagerstown, Md (KM) The cause of a house fire in Washington County Tuesday night remains under investigation.

Just after 6:00 PM, fire fighters were dispatched to 17336 Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown for a two-story brick house on fire; the building contained two apartments.

Fire fighters spent 30-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says damage is estimated at $10,000 to  the structure, and $5,000 to the contents. .

Investigators say the fire originated on the outside porch on the second floor. The flames were discovered by a neighbor.
