Frederick County Grand Jury Returns Three Indictments On Friday

These cases now move to the Circuit Court.

Frederick, Md (KM) Three people were indicted on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury.

The panel charged Bryant A. Simpson, 38,  of Frederick with two counts each of 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault, and one count of 2nd-degree child abuse for an incident which occurred on July 23rd, 2023 .

Also indicted was Carlos Alberto Platero Amaya, 38, of Myersville, who is charged with 1st-degree assault, and 2nd-degree assault for an incident which occurred on July 2nd, 2023..

The Grand Jury also indicted Joshua A. Charriez Burgos, 34, of Frederick, who is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault and reckless endangerment for an incident which occurred on July 23rd, 2023.

These indictments move these cases to Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says any unsealed indictments are not subject to inspection at this time.

Prosecutors also says an indictment is charging document alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
