Ohio Homicide Suspect Arrested In Frederick County

Man arrested on Saturday

Frederick, Md. (DG) – A 25-year-old man from Ohio was arrested by Maryland State Police in Frederick County after his car struck a police cruiser during a pursuit near Boonsboro on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

At around 4 PM police in Fulton County, Ohio contacted Maryland State Police in response to a black Honda Accord on Interstate-70 in Washington County. Troopers were advised that the driver had an outstanding arrest warrant for a homicide and felony assault in Ohio.

Troopers located the Honda on I-70 eastbound near Route 66. Police tried to make a traffic stop, but the suspect struck a police vehicle and fled. The officer was not injured.

The pursuit continued for 3-miles until the suspect was forced to stop due to heavy traffic in Frederick County. Troopers arrested Jose Aguilera Cespedes. He is charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, and traffic violations.

The investigation into the accident and charges in Ohio continues.
