A Frederick Project Contained In An Federal Appropriations Bill

It provides funds for a reconfiguration of W. Patrick Street, US Rt. 15 interchange.

Washington DC (KM) Funding for a Frederick city project is included in a bill recently passed by the Senate Appropriations Committee. The measure contains $380,000 to develop preliminary plans for the reconfiguration of the West Patrick Street and US 15 interchange. Officials says this project will improve equitable access to the downtown for disadvantaged communities.

Maryland’s US Senators say the $34-million for Maryland projects contained in the fiscal year 2024 legislation won’t be final until it passes the full US Senate. It then must be reconciled with the House of Representatives and signed by the President.
