Speed Camera Installed Along Motter Ave In Frederick

Frederick, Md (KM) An automated speed monitoring camera has been installed in the northbound lane of Motter Avenue just north of North Frederick Elementary School. Frederick Police say the goal of this camera is to improve road safety and reduce speeding violations.

The camera will be activated on Monday, October 2nd, 2023. . During a 30-day adjustment period, any vehicle which exceeds the posted speed limit by 12 miles per hour will be recorded, but there will be no citations issued.

Beginning on November 1st, 2023, the owners of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit by 12 miles per hour will be issued citations. The maximum fine is 40-dollars.

Police say these citations will not be reported to insurance companies, and no points will be accessed on the owner’s license.
