Anyone under the age of 18 who does not have health insurance, whose health insurance doesn’t cover the cost of vaccinations or who cannot get vaccinated through their health care provider is eligible to receive a free flu shot through the health department.

The first clinic is Friday, Oct 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the second clinic is Friday, Oct 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Flu shots will be available during these dates by appointment only. To schedule an appointment call 301-600-3342.

Children must be accompanied by an adult to receive a flu shot. If the adult accompanying the child is not the child’s parent or guardian, they must have written permission allowing the adult to bring the child. Only one parent or guardian may accompany the child at the clinic.

Vaccinated individuals must remain on site for 15 minutes after they receive the shot.

All vaccinations are provided by the Maryland Department of Health.
