Parts Of I-70 In Frederick County To Undergo Repair Work

MDOT SHA says crews will repair cracks and depressions.

Frederick, Md (KM) Repair work is scheduled to begin Tuesday night on a quarter-mile stretch of Interstate 70 in Frederick County. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says crews will repair the cracks and depressions along I-70 between the I-270 overpass and the overpass on New Design Road.

Work is expected to start on Tuesday, October 17th at 9:00 PM , and continue until 4:00 AM the next day.   All of the work will take place Sunday through Thursday nights at those times.

MDOT SHA says crews will make repairs to the southbound  I-270 merge lane on left lane of I-70. Motorists on southbound I-270 will take  Exit 31A on to northbound Md. 85 (Buckeystown Pike) to get on eastbound I-70.

The project will also include repairs to the  eastbound I-70 exit lane on to Md 144 (Old National Pike) at Exit 56. .

The contractor for the project, FO Day of Rockville, will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone and detour routes.
