Cox Announces Run For 6th Congressional District

He’s a former Delegate who  represented  Frederick & Carroll Counties.

Frederick, Md (KM) Former Maryland Delegate Dan Cox is running for Congress. The Moco Show web sits is reporting that Cox is running in the Sixth District which is represented by Democrat David Trone. Earlier this year, Trone announced that he was running for US Senator after incumbent Ben Cardin said he was not seeking re-election in 2024. .

The 6th District contains all of Frederick, Washington, Allegany and Garrett Counties, and a portion of Montgomery County.

Cox was the GOP candidate who ran unsuccessfully against Democrat Wes Moore for Governor last year..

According to the Maryland State Board of Elections website, Cox has not officially filed as a candidate. But Frederick County School Board member Jason “Mister J” Johnson recently filed to run for the Sixth District Congressional Seat as an unaffiliated candidate. He will only be on the ballot for the general election next year. .

Maryland’s Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.  Early voting takes place from Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 through Thursday, May 9th, 2024 from 7:00 AM until 8:00 all seven days.

The General Election is Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Early voting occurs from Thursday, October 24th, 2024 to Thusday, October 31st, 2024 from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM all seven days.
