Frederick, Md (KM) The report of a shooting turned out to be false.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says at around 2:00 PM on Friday, the Emergency Communications Center received a call about a shooting in the area of Ballenger Creek Middle School. .
Deputies responded to the scene, and the school was placed on a secured status for a brief period of time. After an investigation, authorities determined the reports of a shooting were not credible, and normal operations resumed at the school. .
There was an increased police presence in the area of Ballenger Creek Middle School to help with the dismissal of students, the Sheriff’s Office says.
