It involved a car and a tractor trailer.
Thurmont, Md (KM) Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of a two vehicle crash near Thurmont Tuesday morning.
Just after 7:00 AM, troopers from the Frederick Barrack responded to northbound US 15 at Roddy Creek Road for the crash. Their preliminary investigation determined that a tractor trailer was attempting to cross the intersection when it was struck by a car. The driver and the sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police say they are withholding the identity of the deceased person pending notification of next of kin.
There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
All lanes of northbound US 15 were closed for a brief period of time while troopers conducted their investigation of the crash.
