Frederick, Md (KM) The investigation continues into the cause of last Saturday’s building fire in downtown Frederick. But the County Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled out anything intentional. That’s according to an e-mail from Fire and Rescue Services spokeswoman Sarah Campbell.

She says the Fire Marshal’s Office is working with the property owner’s insurance company to determine an exact cause, and a damage estimate.

The fire heavily damaged a two-story building at 111 South Carroll Street.  Two fire fighters suffered minor injuries, but were not transported to the hospital.

The flames and smoke from the fire could be seen within the immediate area of South Carroll Street, and beyond.

The building contained an antique store, and an apartment, and was being used for storage. It was connected by a walkway to a building across the street.

The bundling was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
