Annapolis, Md (KM) A list of transportation priorities is being sent off in a letter to Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul Wiedefeld. The Frederick County Legislative Delegation approved the letter last Friday which contains projects the county wants included in the State’s Consolidated Transportation Priorities list, and get funding.
Delegation Chair Jesse Pippy says number one is widening US 15 between Interstate 70 and Route 26. “The reason it wasn’t there before was because it was fully funded. Now, it’s not fully funded so we’ve once again placed it at the top of our list,” he says,.
The project had been number-one until 2022 when construction was fully funded. But state officials sat money for that could project could be in danger due to a funding shortfall. But funds for planning is expected to remain in the budget
The other projects on the list include:
*Full design funding for I-70 Phase 4: I-270 to Mount Phillip Rd.
* Planning and design funding for Md. 194 from Md. 26 to Devilbiss Bridge Rd.
*Planning and design funding for Md 85 Phase II and III: Guilford Drive to south of Ballenger Creek Pike
*Preliminary Planning Funding: for US 15: Md. 464 yo US 340.
