Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Division of Water and Sewer Utilities says the intersection of Baltimore Road and Bells Lane remains closed due to a water main break.
While crews continue to make repairs, water customers in the Spring Ridge area may notice a discoloration of their water. County officials say this is the result of naturally occurring particles and minerals that have settled over time, and they are found in all water systems. They say the sediment was disturbed when staff opened or closed valves to isolate the water main break.
They say the water is safe to use. As a precautionary measure, however, the Division says bacteriological samples are being collected and will be analyzed at its laboratory.
For aesthetic reasons, residents are advised to avoid doing laundry until the water clears up.

The Division of Water and Sewer Utilities says the road closure at Baltimore Road and Bells Lane will remain in affect until further notice.
