It will involve the replacement of an aging storm drainage system.
Sykesville, Md (KM) Beginning on Monday, March 4th, , the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says it will begin a project to improve the storm drainage system on Main Street (Md 851) between Wilson Avenue and Friendship Road in Sykesville in Carroll County. The contractor’s crews will remove an aging storm drainage system along a span of Main Street, and install a new system. .
One lane of that roadway will be closed starting on Monday at 7:00 AM. Crews will use a flagging operation to maintain two-way traffic.
The work is scheduled to take place between Monday and Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM
MDOT SHA says the project is expected to be completed by May.
The contractor for the project, Allied Contractors, Inc. based in Baltimore, will use electronic signs, message boards, signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the lane closures and work zone.
