Washington DC (KM) Frederick County will benefit from the fiscal year 2024 government funding package approved on Wednesday by the US House of Representatives. Representative David Trone’s Office says a total of $10,366,279 is coming to projects in Frederick County.
That funding includes $4,616,279 to construct a new downtown Frederick youth center. There’s also $2,000,000 for water and wastewater treatment plant updates for the City of Brunswick, Along with that, there’s $1,250,000 to purchase land to construct the “I Believe in Me” Hope Center. The package also contains $1,000,000 for the new John R. Webb VFW Post 3285 building. There’s’ also $1,000,000 in improvements to Woodside Avenue and North Carroll Street in Thurmont, and $500,00 for the Frederick Innovative Technology Center Manufacturing and Commercialization Center.
In a statement Representative Trone’s Office says Community Project Funding delivers direct federal investments in local projects that help lead to better community-provided resources and spur economic growth and job creation.
“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, my job is to ensure that communities across the country are equipped to serve and provide vital resources to folks in need,” says Representative Trone, in a statement. “After listening to our local leaders about what they need on the ground, I’m proud to deliver a direct line of federal funding from upgrading deteriorating infrastructure, and expanding essential services. We’re building a brighter future for all Marylanders.”
