Montgomery County Police are investigating.
Gaithersburg, Md (KM) Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate a fatal crash in the Rockville area on Monday afternoon.
At around 2:34 PM, officers and fire and rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Layhill Road and Bel Pre Road for the accident. Authorities say a Subaru Outback operated by Maria Perdomo, 77, was traveling northbound along Layhill Road. She was making a left turn on to Bel Pre Road when her vehicle collided with a Tesla Model Y which was traveling southbound on Layhill Road.
Perdomo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tesla was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
