Emergency Preparedness Simulation To Take Place Near Brunswick Later This Month

The simulation will take place on a stretch of the Potomac river

Brunswick, Md. (BW)- An emergency preparedness simulation will be taking place along the C&O canal on April 18.

The purpose of this scenario is to simulate response procedures in a hypothetical flooding incident.

The training will take place between Dam 3 and the town of Brunswick.

Several state and local agencies will be participating. Residents will see a heavy law enforcement and military presence, including helicopters, from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Washington County Government stated in a press release that this is purely a simulated exercise, and there is no cause for harm.
