Middletown Branch Library Opens To The Public On Saturday

Middletown, Md (KM) The new Middletown Branch Library will officially open at 10′:00 AM on Saturday, May 4th,  and there will be a celebration.

The Frederick County Public Library System says the new facility at 31 East Green Street is 15,000 square feet, and will contain a community room, quiet study spaces, areas dedicated to children and teenagers, and a drive-though book drop. It will also have two outdoor patios, and the first set of outdoor book lockers.

The new library replaces a one-room library site at 101 Prospect Street.

There will be a grand celebration from 11: AM until 4:00 PM, featuring live music, a magic act and a critter show. There will be tours of the new branch library every 30 minutes.

County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, Councilman Jerry Donald, Middletown Burgess John Miller, Library Board of Trustees Chair Jenny D’Agostino, and Frederick County Public Libraries Director James Kelly will deliver remarks.

“We’re thrilled to open this new library and we greatly appreciate the incredible support we’ve received from the Middletown Community,” Kelly says , in a statement.
