Second Suspect Arrested In Frederick County Homicide

He’s currently jailed on a no-bond status.

Frederick, Md (KM) A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide earlier this year in Frederick County.  The Sheriff’s Office says Alonzo Michael Epps, 23, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning following an indictment handed down by the Grand Jury on Friday, May 3rd.

He is charged with 1st-degree murder, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree murder, kidnapping and carjacking for the slaying of Brice Wendell Boots, 65, of Pikesville.

Epps is behind bars on a no-bond status, according to the Sheriff’s Office. .

In March of this year, another suspect in the case identified as Keon Wilson-Hawkins, 20, was arrested in Baltimore.

On January 10th, 2024, at around 1:32 PM, deputies responded to the 8200 block of Crum Road in Walkersville for a report of a suspicious vehicle in a field with its flashers on. It had been there since 7:00 AM  Boots was found inside the vehicle.   Investigators ruled his  death as a homicide.

Deputies closed Crum Road near Stauffer Road to the public for two days while the investigation at the crime scene continued.

Deputies were assisted in the apprehension of both suspects by the US Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force.
