(Photos courtesy of Frederick County Fire and Rescue Facebook page)Frederick, Md. (BW)- The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were shut down for some time Saturday, June 1 due a vehicle collision and fire.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to I-70 at Hollow Road around 10:14 p.m. and found one vehicle overturned in the median and another vehicle stopped in the right lane. The vehicle in the roadway then caught fire.
All occupants were out of the vehicles and the fire was quickly extinguished. One individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Another individual involved refused medical attention.
The westbound side of the highway was closed for a period of time.
