Middletown, Md (KM) No injuries were reported from a house fire Monday morning south of Middletown.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, fire fighters were dispatched at around 9:43 AM to the 7300 block of Countryside Drive where they found smoke showing on all four sides of the single family home. Fire was discovered in the basement, and a tanker task force and a rapid intervention dispatch were called to the scene.
Officials say the fire was under control by 9:54 AM.
No residents were home at the time. One cat died in the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting two adult residents.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
