Students And Parents Voice Support Of Remote Virtual Program

Public comments show support for restoration of funding for RVP for grades 3 through 8.

Frederick, MD (JK/KM) – The Frederick County Board of Education heard from students and parents Wednesday night who wanted the Remote Virtual Program restored for third through eight grade students. It provides an education through computers for those with special needs and kids who don’t do well in a traditional classroom.

The School Board cut the program in order to balance its fiscal year 2025 budget.

If the program is restored, cuts will have to be made elsewhere in the budget.

The Board votes on the final budget on June 26th.
