FREDERICK, MD. (LG) A Frederick man was sentenced Thursday to life in prison, with all but 40 years suspended, to serve in the Department of Corrections, for 1st degree murder.
The States Attorney’s Office released a statement saying that 24 year old Tyree Ronell Deangelo Haynes entered a guilty plea in April of this year, for fatally shooting 17 year old Malakai Cooke. The incident happened in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites, in Frederick on April 16th, 2021.
The victim previously told family members he feared for his life, authorities said.
Investigators collected multiple video surveillance recordings of the area which revealed the timeline of events leading to the murder.
