New Chief Information Officer Named For Frederick County

He takes over on July 15th.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County has a new Chief Information Officer and Director of Interagency Information Technologies. The County Council on Tuesday approved the appointment of Ty Howard to the post.   He will take over on July 15th.

In a news release, the county says Howard has more than two decades of senior-level experience in the IT field. “Mr. Howard is extremely qualified to serve as Chief Information Officer,” says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “I am confident he will encourage a cult of innovation, focus on customer service, and move Frederick County forward.”

Howard was the Chief Information Officer for Goodyear, Arizona, and Assistant Chief Information Officer of Mesa, Arizona.

He earned his master’s degree in instructional technology from Bloomsburg University,  and in public administration from Arizona State University. His undergraduate degree is in sociology/criminal justice from Bloomsburg University.
