Accessory Suspect Arrested in 2023 Montgomery County Homicide

Driver of the vehicle that transported suspected shooters is in custody.

Gaithersburg, MD – A 24-year-old has been arrested for his involvement in a November 2023 homicide.

Jose Ramon Ventura, who has no known address, is charged with accessory after the fact for driving and transporting two individuals believed to be responsible for the shooting death of 20-year-old Orlando Alexander Satz, Jr.

Satz, Jr. died on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, after crashing his car into a parked vehicle on Spruell Drive. Neighbors who heard the crash removed Satz, Jr. from the car and provided aid when Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded and observed apparent gunshot wounds.

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section responded to the scene and is investigating the death as a homicide.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Ventura as the driver of a black Honda Civic that two suspects entered after the shooting.

On Tuesday, June 18, detectives requested and obtained a warrant for Ventura’s arrest, charging him with accessory after the fact. Ventura was taken into custody on Thursday, June 20, by 4th District officers and served with an arrest warrant. He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
