Former NSA Contractor Sentenced To Prison

She was convicted of making false statements and overstating her hours.

Baltimore, Md (KM) A former contractor for the National Security Agency is going to prison. Last week in US District Court in Baltimore, Jacky Lynn McComber of Elkridge was sentenced to 13 months in a federal penitentiary, and was ordered to pay $176,913 in restitution for overstating her hours working on a contract with the NSA.

The US Attorney’s Office for Maryland says McComber was the chief executive officer of a information technology company which had contracts with the NSA. At the time, the material she worked with was classified information which had to be handled at NSA headquarters with very little work being done at an outside location.

During her four-week trial, evidence and testimony was presented that McComber billed NSA for working at the agency’s headquarters when she was not on the premises. She also did not work the number of hours at NSA that she recorded on her timesheets., according to federal prosecutors.
